Why the Perryville High School Alumni Association Board Supports Prop K.I.D.S.
For decades, the Perryville High School Alumni Association has existed to strengthen the bond between generations of Pirates. We celebrate our shared history, preserve traditions, recognize excellence, and invest in the students who will one day become our newest alumni.
That mission is why the Board of Directors has voted to publicly support Prop K.I.D.S.
Our role as an alumni association is not to endorse political candidates or involve ourselves in partisan issues. However, when a decision directly impacts the future of Perryville High School and the generations of students who will carry on its legacy, we believe it is appropriate—and important—to share where we stand.
Perryville High School has shaped thousands of lives. It has prepared students for college, careers, military service, entrepreneurship, and community leadership. The memories we cherish were created within its classrooms, hallways, athletic fields, performing arts spaces, and gathering places. Today's students deserve the same opportunity to learn, grow, and build memories in facilities that are safe, modern, and designed for the future.
Since the devastating tornado, our community has shown remarkable resilience. Students, teachers, staff, parents, and volunteers have adapted to extraordinary circumstances while continuing to demonstrate what it means to be a Pirate. Their perseverance has been inspiring. Now, we have another opportunity to invest in the next chapter of Perryville's story.
Supporting Prop K.I.D.S. is about more than buildings. It is about creating an environment where students can thrive, where teachers have the resources they need to succeed, and where future generations can experience the same pride that so many alumni carry with them throughout their lives.
Strong schools benefit everyone. They help attract families, strengthen our local economy, increase community pride, and ensure Perryville remains a place where people want to live, work, and raise their children. Today's students are tomorrow's business owners, healthcare professionals, educators, first responders, volunteers, and community leaders. Investing in them is an investment in all of us.
We also recognize that every voter must make this decision based on their own circumstances and convictions. We respect that thoughtful people may arrive at different conclusions. Our hope is simply that every member of our community becomes informed, asks questions, and participates in the election.
As alumni, we often say that once you're a Pirate, you're always a Pirate. That connection doesn't end at graduation—it continues through each generation that walks the halls of Perryville High School.
The Board of Directors believes Prop K.I.D.S. represents an investment in those future generations, and we are proud to support it.
We encourage everyone to take part in the election and help shape the future of Perryville Public Schools.
Coming Back. Giving Back. Belonging Always.
